Meet The Teacher

Maria is a local Livermore mom with two elementary aged children and a local Livermore Real Estate Agent. She studied music performance at San Jose State University and her love of music has kept her teaching, and performing, for over 25 years.

Music is in the genes is a common saying in Maria’s family. Coming from a long line of professional and accomplished amateur musicians including pianists, opera singers, military band leaders, and wind players it’s no surprise the trend carries on. In fact, Maria had the pleasure to perform several operas under her great uncle, Maestro Salvatore D’Aura, who served as Artistic Director well into his 90’s. (Article about Maestro Salvatore). Music is in her genes and it’s where she thrives.

As a mentor, Maria is proud of her students and their own accomplishments, many of whom have won auditions to play in California honor bands, and a national honor orchestra. Among these are: Santa Clara County Honor Band, Alameda County Honor Band, California State Honor Band, National Honor Orchestra, where she had the pleasure of attending her students debut performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City. As a band director Maria has had several elementary bands win 1st place in local band competitions.

Maria, not only a teacher of music, is a consummate musician in her own right. She performs as a freelance musician in pit orchestras, concert bands, jazz ensembles, and chamber music ensembles. As a freelance musician, she recorded as soloist the music in a historical documentary, “100 years of Mountain View.” This film depicted the history of the city, Mountain View, CA, her hometown.

Music instructor, Maria D’Aura, maintains a private studio in Mountain View, CA – Silicon Valley, heads an elementary school band program dedicated to bringing instrumental music back to local elementary schools (, is a licensed Kindermusik educator since 2001.

Maria is also passionate about real estate and finds great satisfaction helping families achieve their goals of home ownership. She is known as the Bay Area Real Estate Mom and is proud to be an agent with eXp Realty. If you have a question about real estate give Maria a call at 925-400-8488. She sells real estate in the Tri-Valley, Silicon Valley, and South Bay area.

Maria currently lives in the Livermore Tri-Valley area with her husband, a retired police officer and professional musician, two young children, Minnie (cat) and the latest addition, Sally (puppy).
